Google Cloud’s BigQuery public datasets have expanded to include 11 new blockchains, according to an announcement by Google Cloud. This expansion aims to provide a more comprehensive view across the crypto landscape and allows developers to retrieve on-chain data off-chain and without querying the blockchain directly.

The 11 new blockchains added to BigQuery include Polygon, Avalanche, Tron, Polkadot, Arbitrum, Ethereum (Görli), Cronos, Fantom (Opera), Near, and Optimism. These networks were chosen based on their demand and popularity within the blockchain community.

The addition of these blockchains to BigQuery enables scalable data processing, allowing developers and users to access and analyze data efficiently. This enhancement will benefit blockchain foundations, Web3 analytics firms, partners, developers, and customers who require a broader understanding of the crypto market.

In addition to expanding the dataset to include these new blockchains, Google is also looking to improve the Bitcoin BigQuery dataset by adding Ordinals/Satoshis (sats). This addition is crucial due to the increasing popularity of Ordinals, which has led to congestion within the Bitcoin network.

Google Cloud’s move to include more blockchains in its BigQuery program demonstrates its commitment to supporting the blockchain ecosystem. By providing reliable and accessible data sets, developers and analysts can gain valuable insights into various blockchain networks.

This development comes after Google Cloud’s recent strategic alliance with Zilliqa, where it joined the blockchain platform as a staked seed node operator. Additionally, the cloud computing giant was chosen as the default messaging verifier for interoperability protocol LayerZero.

Overall, Google Cloud’s expansion of its BigQuery datasets to include 11 new blockchains reflects the growing importance of blockchain technology in the digital landscape. By making data from these networks easily accessible, Google aims to support the development and adoption of blockchain applications and services.
