Blockchain technology continues to disrupt various industries and transform them with its numerous applications. One of its most recent applications is the creation of a metaverse, which Avalanche and Alibaba Cloud have partnered to deploy. Avalanche, a blockchain network, has joined forces with Alibaba Cloud, a leading Asian cloud service provider, to launch a blockchain-based metaverse deployment platform called Cloudbase.
This new deployment platform will allow users to create a metaverse within minutes, according to Ava Labs founder and CEO Emin Gün Sirer. Cloudbase’s blockchain assets, including wearables and digital land, will be based on the Avalanche blockchain. Meanwhile, Alibaba Cloud will take care of providing cloud computing, storage, and other infrastructure services needed for the platform. The metaverse construction platform MUA DAO is also on board to support the project.
Metaverses typically integrate virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology to create immersive virtual worlds. Although it is unclear which technologies will be supported on Cloudbase, the potential for innovation and creativity on the platform is limitless.
Avalanche is currently among the top twenty blockchains by market cap, with a total capitalization of $5.6 billion. The partnership with Alibaba Cloud is its second high-profile cloud computing partnership, following its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January.
As blockchain continues to evolve, partnerships like these will lead to more developments and innovation on the technology. The potential for blockchain-powered metaverse deployment platforms like Cloudbase is vast, and the possibilities for applications in various industries are endless.
