Hashed Emergent, a subsidiary of South Korean web3 venture fund Hashed, has announced that it will be hosting the first blockchain conference week in India in December. The week-long series of events, known as India Blockchain Week (IBW), will take place in Bangalore, the heart of India’s tech and startup scene.
IBW aims to become India’s first world-class, multi-chain web3 conference with a pan-industry agenda. It will showcase the increasing role of India in web3, including its growing crypto adoption and the emergence of exciting startups in the sub-continent.
The conference will run from December 4 to December 10 and will feature a range of web3-focused events. It will kick off with hackathons, side events, and parties before moving on to the headline conference and the ETHIndia hackathon. The ETHIndia hackathon set a record last year with over 2,000 attendees and 450+ project submissions.
The main venue for the conference will be the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Whitefield, a major IT and commercial hub in Bangalore.
IBW has partnered with MarketAcross, a leading web3 PR and marketing agency, as its global lead media. MarketAcross has previously worked with companies like Polygon and Hashed Emergent and has served as the official media partner for various web3 events.
India has quickly emerged as one of the leading adopters of web3, despite facing regulatory hurdles. The Indian government has historically been skeptical of cryptocurrencies but is now positioning itself for globally harmonized regulation at the G20 Summit.
While the list of speakers for the IBW headline conference has not been revealed yet, it is expected to include prominent local and global leaders in the blockchain industry.
