MiamiWeb3: A Bridge for Gathering All-hands to Build the Future of Web3″
MiamiWeb3 Summit, co-organized by the City of Miami, CTH Group, and Atlas, was held from November 28th to 30th, 2022. The summit had over 100 industry leaders and nearly 1,500 attendees who discussed the future of Web3. With the theme “Going Beyond Crypto to Embrace Web3,” the summit brought together people from different industries to share their ideas and views on the potential opportunities in Web3.
The summit was kicked off by Raymond Yuan, Founder and Chairman of CTH Group and Atlas. Yuan expressed his gratitude to all the participants and stated that MiamiWeb3 is a bridge to gather the community and build the future of Web3. He shared six key points that CTH Group has learned during the turbulent years and stated that Web3 is still young and full of infinite possibilities.
The summit had renowned policymakers, such as Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, who discussed her perspective on crypto policy and highlighted the present state of regulation & policies facing digital assets and the Web3 industry in the United States. Leaders from traditional financial institutions such as Franklin Templeton and Neuberger Berman shared similarly optimistic views on what’s next. Representatives from the world’s leading think tanks, Milken Institute, Tony Blair Institute, and the Atlantic Council, also weighed in on the demand for Web3.
On the second day, legendary venture capitalist Tim Draper discussed the outlook of the Web3 industry in a fireside chat with Henry Love, Managing Partner of Fundamental Labs, and stated that Web3 will transform legacy finance. Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, Founder of Pomp Investments, shared his views on investing in the Web3 future, from networks and platforms to applications and communities.
Discussions shifted towards Web3 infrastructure and applications, with representatives from Ava Labs, Stratos, Partisia Blockchain, and Concordia. Panelists discussed the contributions of infrastructure and scalability solutions that power the underlying industry and its applications. They also dove into the rapidly evolving gaming world, from speaking about on-chain in-game assets to the gaming industry’s potential to be a significant catalyst for Web3 adoption.
The MiamiWeb3 Summit successfully became a globally relevant platform to drive meaningful discussions and outcomes for the Web3 industry. The summit gave everyone, from policymakers to investors to developers, a chance to share their ideas and views on the potential opportunities in Web3. The summit ended with an agreement that Web3 and blockchain technology have a critical role to play in disrupting the traditional financial and non-financial industries.
