Square Enix, the renowned developer behind Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games, has made a groundbreaking move by organizing the first NFT auction for its upcoming web3 game, Symbiogenesis. The auction will feature NFTs representing characters from the highly anticipated game, which is set to launch on December 21st.
The NFT auction will take place in three waves, with a total of 500 in-game Ethereum NFT characters up for grabs. The first wave will run from November 27 to November 28, followed by the second wave from November 30 to December 1, and the third wave from December 2 to December 3. While the NFTs are initially free to claim, in the event of multiple simultaneous claims for a specific character, they will be auctioned off.
What sets this NFT auction apart is the additional rewards that Square Enix plans to offer to participants. Bonus NFTs will be given out during the auction in an attempt to fuel the bidding process. Bidders will receive a “special countdown illustration NFT” available in four versions, and those who place a bid of at least 0.05 ETH will be granted a “Member Card Red (Colored)” NFT, which will provide “additional points” upon logging into Symbiogenesis.
Furthermore, the auction will offer exclusive participation in the initial stage for early investors in the game and those who have excelled in completing challenges in the Symbiogenesis official Discord channel, as well as holders of Symbiogenesis Relics and Campaign NFTs.
Symbiogenesis is a web-based and narrative-driven Ethereum and Polygon NFT game that promises powerful characters, compelling storylines, and a host of surprises. The game’s immersive world is set to provide players with an array of unexpected turns and events to explore.
With this NFT auction, Square Enix is pioneering a new approach to engaging with its community and incorporating NFTs into its gaming ecosystem. The auction not only creates excitement for the upcoming game but also offers fans a unique opportunity to own exclusive digital assets tied to Symbiogenesis. It will be interesting to see how this innovative move by Square Enix shapes the future of NFT integration in the gaming industry.
